MOOC: A great success

The School’s Health in Humanitarian Crises free online course has now come to an end, with more than 15,000 learners and over 190 countries and territories represented worldwide. We extend our thanks to all of our contributors from the School and international organisations across the world, as this could not have been achieved without their valuable time, expertise, and personal insights

Throughout its three week duration learners engaged critically with the course material and brought forth astute comments and questions for consideration by the team. Here are a few comments left by learners:

‘A BIG “thank you” to the LSHTM for providing access to education. I loved the classes and learned a lot in this program! Thank you once again!’

‘This course is amazing and has given me so much to consider and take forward. All the course tutors/educators have been wonderful. Thanks to everyone for sharing your experiences, ideas and knowledge. Much appreciated.’

‘THANK YOU for an excellent course, available free of cost and inclusive. The resources are excellent and I have greatly benefited from the lively discussions, especially learning directly from fellow students currently serving in affected areas on the ground.’

Many learners plan to take their new knowledge and use it in their home countries to improve humanitarian practice, or as a starting point for future study in the area. As close to half of these learners came from low- and middle-income countries, our efforts have helped to further the School’s mission of improving health equity worldwide.
